Menopause Majlis ("we," "us," "our") is an events platform and initiative of MeNOW Health. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you visit our events page, register for events, or interact with us in any way.
By registering for or attending any Menopause Majlis event — free or paid — you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. Who We Are
Menopause Majlis is a project of MeNOW Health, a digital health platform dedicated to supporting women through their menopause journey with culturally sensitive, evidence-based resources. Our events — both free and paid — are designed to educate, connect, and empower women at midlife.

3. Information We Collect
When you register for or attend a Menopause Majlis event, we may collect the following:
Information you provide directly:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (where requested)
- Age range or year of birth
- Location / country of residence
- Payment information (for paid events — processed securely through third-party payment providers)
- Health-related information you voluntarily share (e.g. menopausal status, symptoms) when completing event registration forms or surveys
- Questions or comments submitted before or during events
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- IP address
- Pages visited and time spent on our events page
- Referral source (how you found us)
Information from third parties:
If you register via a third-party platform (e.g. Eventbrite, Google Forms, or social media), we may receive information you have provided to that platform in connection with your registration
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process your event registration and confirm your booking
- Send you event reminders, updates, and logistics information
- Process payments for paid events
- Communicate with you about upcoming Menopause Majlis events and MeNOW Health initiatives

We will only send you marketing communications with your consent, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.
5. Health Information
Menopause Majlis events address topics related to women's health, menopause, and midlife wellness. Any health-related information you choose to share with us — through registration forms, surveys, Q&A submissions, or event interactions — is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.
We will never:
- Share your personal health information with third parties without your explicit consent
- Use your health information for commercial profiling or targeted advertising
- Disclose identifiable health information publicly in any format
6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR & UAE PDPL)
Where applicable, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract — to fulfil your event registration and deliver the services you have booked
- Legitimate interests — to improve our events and communicate with registered attendees
- Consent — for marketing communications and optional health-related data collection
- Legal obligation — where required by applicable law
Menopause Majlis operates in compliance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and, where applicable to international attendees, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
7. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — third-party platforms used to host, manage, or process event registrations and payments (e.g. Eventbrite, Stripe, Zoom, Google). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- MeNOW Health — as the parent initiative, MeNOW Health may access event data for reporting and operational purposes, subject to the same privacy standards set out in this policy
- Legal requirements — if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority
- Business transfers — in the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, your data would be transferred with appropriate notice
8. Payments
For paid events, payment processing is handled by a secure third-party payment provider. Menopause Majlis does not store your full card details. All payment transactions are encrypted and processed in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
9. Event Photography and Recording
Some Menopause Majlis events may be photographed, recorded, or livestreamed. Where this is the case, we will notify attendees in advance. If you do not wish to appear in any recordings or photographs, please notify us before the event and we will make reasonable accommodations.
By attending an event where recording has been disclosed, you consent to the possibility of incidental inclusion in recordings used for educational or promotional purposes.
10. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. Typically:
- Event registration data is retained for 2 years after the event
- Payment records are retained for 5 years for financial compliance purposes
- Marketing consent records are retained until you withdraw consent
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 12).
11. Cookies and Tracking
Our events page may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience and understand how visitors engage with our content. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
12. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have the right to:

15. Children
Menopause Majlis events are designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this document and notify registered users by email where appropriate. Continued participation in Menopause Majlis events after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
